Flowers Explained

Introduction

I enjoy looking through the lens of a camera and shooting for hours to capture beautiful things such as flowers. They remind me of so many things particularly of the warm and tender touches from a woman who loves you. They bring back those warm tender touches that so erupt you. Emotions are powerful. These Flower Folios represent an ongoing journey by demonstrating a maturing process underlying my photographic thought. Each one is unique and a progression in technique and perspective. I hope you enjoy looking through them. Each Flower Folio contains twelve images.

Flower Folio 1

This folio represents my earliest serious wanderings into capturing flowers. My photographic expression blossomed upon making the transition from film to digital photography several years ago. Courtesy of the ease of use that the digital medium affords photographers my curiosity which was otherwise restricted by the costs of film processing became unrestrained. This folio has meaning as it serves to remind me of the excitement that the digital medium generated in me and also of the sheer intensity of the images captured. The flowers captured belong to the Royal Parks in London.

Flower Folio 2

This folio represents an assortment of images captured over several years as opposed to a collection captured in a short focused time period. Each one is a unique capture that has no bearing to any other image in this folio. When out and about the urge to capture a flower is intense but due to ambient light conditions and other factors, this can be rather tricky to execute. So another opportunity passes. I do enjoy the sudden rush to capture an image in my imagination and execute that thought process as quickly and smoothly as possible. This is where my Flower Folios often differ from my other work.

Flower Folio 3

Flowers. One of the most beautiful creations of all. This collection contains some images captured as an FY1 and FY2 in Aberdeen. I do not indulge as much as I used to but flowers can still spark thoughts

Flower Folio 4

Just a small collection of images

Flower Folio 5

Just some monochrome images shot as a final year medical student in London and junior doctor in Aberdeen

Flower Folio 6

Some images shot as a junior doctor in Aberdeen

Flower Folio 7

This is a random collection during my latter days working in Aberdeen. It is a pity that since 2012 I have not shot consistently since
